Part 3 - „Living together“ in „Knyazhevska Forest” Park

It is Sunday again. The sun is shining again, giving us all its support to continue. It is the third day of our Living together. This week we started already on Saturday when one volunteer came for several hours and worked on cleaning the wild bushes of the forest pathways and made it ready for the next day activities.

On Sunday morning after all had gathered we continue to take away the wild bushes in the forest that before made it impassable and unapproachable. The branches and bushes, cut on the previous day, are piling up as a “green mountain” at the place specially chosen for this purpose.

The space for the planned children corner, The Forest Children Kingdom, is getting open. The whole area now starts “breathing” and people are already taking the courage to walk on the path coming down from the mountain.

In the Forest Children´s Kingdom the base construction of the sand pool was built up and as soon as the children saw it’s wooden outlines they enthusiastically started helping to transfer the sand inside it, of course, using their play pots. The youngest ones were even using the cardboard tea cups. The children’s participation is one of the most touching things in implementing the project !

During the day we also started the setup of the construction for the composters, read more about this in the blog Food for The Earth.
In the future repose area we started planting shrubs that will make the outlines for the future flower islets. They in turn will provide the direction for the “Flower river”, that will be planted next Sunday (October 27th). We will be looking forward to the start of “running – blooming”, next Spring when the “Flower river” will be in full bloom.

A little bit further up we really put our heart – about twenty daisy plants found their place in the soil in the shape of a heart. The next day, when we have finished our work, a man who is walking his dog, by chance passes by and exclaims – “Here somebody did something good!” He turns out to be Spanish and doesn’t speak yet very well Bulgarian, but he expresses a spontaneous joy and says that he would join the activities next week!

Our Sunday activity for this week ends up around 17.00 – every week we unintentionally prolong the time at the site with at least one hour. At the end we probably would not like to leave it at all.

The coming Sunday (October 27th) we are again inviting everybody who would like to live better together to join our neighborhood activities in Knyazhevska forest.
